The Math Primer
The Math Primer was designed to help young children
grasp the basic concepts of addition and subtraction. By
utilizing sounds and 256 color graphics, we are sure that
your child's attention will be focused on learning. The
various modules within the Math Primer include:
Fruitful Addition
Take Away Veggies
Count'em Up
What Am I?
To start the program insert the diskette into the
appropriate drive and make that drive the active drive. From
the root directory type PRIMER <ENTER>. The copyright screen
will be displayed followed by the main program screen. You
can activate the various modules of the program with a mouse
or the keyboard. To use a mouse, simply move the mouse
cursor to the appropriate "button" and press the left mouse
key. To use your keyboard, press the ALT key in combination
with the underlined letter in the title of the desired
exercise.
Fruitful Addition - An addition problem will be
displayed both with numbers and pictures. Beginning children
can count up the pictures to reach an answer, more advanced
children can add up the numbers. Press the number key
corresponding to the correct answer. If correct the program
will present a new problem to be solved. Press <ESC> to end
the game.
Take Away Veggies - Works using the same principals as
Fruitful Addition, however, subtraction problems are
presented instead of addition. Again, press <ESC> to end the
game.
Count'em Up - A varying number of pictures will be
shown on the screen and the child is asked to count them and
enter the correct number. If correct the program will
present a new screen full of pictures for the child to
count. Pressing <ESC> will end the game.
What Am I? - A number is shown on the screen and the
child is asked to locate this number on the keyboard. If
correct the number will be spelled and a number of tones
representing the number will be played. Press <ESC> to end
the game.
Use the mouse to click on the SOUND ON box to toggle
the sound. If you are using a keyboard pressing ALT S will
toggle the sound.
